“At GES, I have had the opportunity to take on challenging new assignments and roles. These experiences have allowed me to build upon my skills while opening the door to future opportunities for career growth.”

Edwin Chudkowski

Associate Environmental Scientist

Edwin Chudkowski is an Associate Environmental Scientist based in GES’ Wall, New Jersey office. He joined GES in 2014 after gaining early career experience as a Field Scientist. With a strong technical foundation in place, Edwin hit the ground running at GES, branching out into team leadership roles on a number of challenging projects. He currently serves as a Case Manager for a portfolio of 20 retail petroleum sites for one of GES’ largest and longest-running oil and gas client accounts.

Edwin’s growing role here at GES can be credited, in large part, to his initiative and willingness to take on new challenges. He served as an Assistant Health and Safety Officer in the New Jersey office where he strengthened his communication skills by leading safety observation and investigation feedback sessions with his peers. His strong understanding of GES’ Loss Prevention System (LPS) safety program and procedures landed him a role overseeing field safety during the construction of a multimillion-dollar remediation project located within an active refinery. His responsibilities included daily subcontractor oversight, communication with union laborers, and client reporting. With this experience in hand, Edwin was able to take advantage of an opportunity to work on his favorite project to date as an interim Field Services Supervisor at a former refinery site in St. Croix, US Virgin Islands. The project not only exposed Edwin to a new culture and way of life on a Caribbean island, it also provided the chance to grow as a project manager and team leader of a busy field office.

Edwin has always been passionate about the outdoors and playing a role in protecting and cleaning up the environment. Along the way, he also gained an interest in the health and safety aspects of the industry. He was able to combine these interests during his academic pursuits, majoring in Environmental Science and Policy with a minor in Industrial Hygiene (Environmental and Occupational Health) while attending Clarkson University. Edwin is working towards an Associate Safety Professional (ASP) certification from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP).

At work or at home, Edwin is always looking forward to that next opportunity to get outdoors. He can trace his love for the outdoors back to his childhood playing baseball and going fishing with his father and grandfather.  Nowadays, you can find Edwin relaxing day at the beach or taking on more adventurous activities like fishing, hiking, and hunting. Regardless, outside or inside, Edwin is focused on spending quality time with his family, who he credits for providing him with guidance and confidence to pursue his career goals.
