why?Knowledge

When GES hires subcontractors for drilling, surveying, or laboratory work, we only choose those who have been approved by GES’ rigorous Subcontractor Quality Program (SQP). Under the SQP, a subcontractor must demonstrate appropriate health and safety plans, adequate financial strength, and sufficient insurance coverage to protect both GES and our clients. Subcontractors must match the requirements of our stringent HSSE and LPS programs. To remain qualified, they are required to update their health and safety information annually. The goal is to make seamless the work performed by GES with that performed by our subcontractors.

It also increases the number of historically disadvantaged firms, including minority-owned, women-owned, and small businesses, contracted by GES. We recognize that there are many experienced, qualified, diverse suppliers in the marketplace. GES’ SQP has proven an effective vehicle for identifying, qualifying, and utilizing these suppliers. The SQP program is administered by our legal department, which provides guidance to our local offices to help them meet our clients’ and our own diversity supplier utilization goals.
