Brownfields Corridor Inventory Assessment Study

GES completed a comprehensive Brownfields Inventory Assessment along the Route 6 and Route 101 corridors to identify properties with potential environmental concerns that could benefit from future Brownfields assessment and redevelopment planning. To support the client’s long-term revitalization goals, GES conducted an in-depth review of historical and environmental conditions for properties within the study area. Our team analyzed RIDEM and USEPA environmental records, historical maps and aerials, and commercial database reports to identify potential releases of petroleum or hazardous substances and evaluate historic industrial or commercial uses. GES developed a detailed inventory and evaluation matrix summarizing properties with potential Recognized Environmental Conditions (RECs) and provided strategic recommendations for future Brownfields assessment priorities.

The client gained a clear, data-driven understanding of potential environmental risks along the Route 6 and Route 101 corridors, enabling proactive planning for future Brownfields assessment and redevelopment. GES’s comprehensive inventory helps the client prioritize sites with recognized or potential environmental concerns, streamlining decision-making and maximizing the impact of future cleanup and redevelopment funding. The client can reduce project delays, mitigate risk, and confidently advance community revitalization initiatives that support sustainable growth and economic development.
