Professional Environmental Services USEPA Brownfields Assessment Grants

GES partnered with the City of Paterson, Passaic County, and NJEDA to advance environmental assessment and redevelopment planning for the former River Street industrial block, supported by a USEPA Brownfields Assessment Grant. GES completed a comprehensive Phase II Site Investigation, developing a USEPA-approved QAPP, securing a Flood Hazard Area permit, and performing soil and groundwater sampling through 19 soil borings and 8 temporary well points.

The investigation identified contaminants including metals, petroleum hydrocarbons, PCBs, SVOCs, and VOCs. GES prepared a detailed Phase II report with recommendations for further delineation and future remediation, supporting plans to redevelop the site into new green space. This project highlights GES’s expertise in Brownfields assessment, regulatory coordination, and community-focused redevelopment efforts..
