scholarship winners 2025

GES is pleased to announce the CSR Program scholarship recipients for the 2025-26 academic year. The CSR program was created to reward academic excellence and social responsibility within the GES community. Once again we received applications from many talented individuals. Three recipients will each be awarded a $2,000 scholarship to support their ongoing academic studies. This year’s winners are:

Hannah Butler

Freshman  l  Michigan State University

Hannah Butler, daughter of Stephen Butler (Exton, PA), will be entering her first year at Michigan State University, working towards a bachelor’s degree in psychology. Hannah has a strong interest in criminal psychology. Driven by a desire to understand human behavior, especially the mental health factors influencing criminal actions, and to advocate for individuals who may not have a voice. Attending Michigan State University allows her to step out of her comfort zone, explore a unique environment, and gain her independence. With a background in community service—mentoring, volunteering, and honoring veterans— Hannah has built a solid foundation of empathy and civic engagement. Academically motivated and committed to meaningful learning, she hopes to make a lasting impact in the field of social psychology.

Nora Flanagan

Freshman  l  Fairfield University

Nora Flanagan, daughter of Greg Flanagan, (Wall Twp., NJ) will be attending Fairfield University in pursuit of a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Nursing. As a first-year nursing student, Nora aims to build a solid foundation in medical sciences and compassionate patient care. Her passion for helping others, combined with a love for science and hands-on learning, inspired her to pursue a career in nursing. She hopes to become a travel nurse to gain experience in diverse healthcare environments and develop greater cultural awareness. A study abroad program in the Dominican Republic broadened her understanding of global healthcare systems and social issues. Throughout high school, she balanced academics with athletics, volunteering, and earning certification as an Emergency Medical Responder. Her involvement in environmental initiatives, including trout aquaculture and beach cleanups, strengthened her sense of social responsibility—values she plans to carry forward in her nursing career.

Kathryn Fox

Junior  l  Ohio University

Kathryn Fox, daughter of Edwin (Ned) Fox (Pittsburgh, PA) will be continuing her journey at Ohio University majoring in Hearing, Speech, and Language Sciences. Kathryn is pursuing a career in speech-language pathology after discovering a passion for the field through academic redirection from nursing. Now entering her senior year at Ohio University, she is working toward a B.S. degree in Hearing, Speech, and Language Sciences with a minor in psychology and a certificate as a Deaf Resources Liaison. Her commitment to helping others communicate is reflected in both her academic and extracurricular involvement, including participation in the National Student Speech Language Hearing Association, the American Sign Language (ASL) Club, and the GIVE Organization. These experiences have broadened her perspective on communication, deaf culture, global citizenship, and service. Kathryn’s goal is to graduate magna cum laude, continue research in graduate school, and potentially pursue a doctorate to contribute to the field and teach at the collegiate level. Driven by a deep sense of social responsibility, her goal is to give others a voice and promote accessible communication for all.
