Air-Permitting Support for Medical-Device Packaging Sterilization Company

Medical device packaging sterilization company

GES provided permitting and engineering support for our client’s new startup sterilization process in Texas. The new startup used state of the art equipment for sterilizing medical packaging and devices with a process that emits ozone.GES completed the online permit requirements of The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ). The new source required modeling and demonstration of best available control technology (BACT) and included a cost benefit assessment. New source review permitting in this region of Texas required engineering knowledge of the process and available abatement control options along with a technically feasibility assessment. Our support provided strategic compliance assistance by identifying the requirements for the project to be evaluated by the TECQ’s under minor review rather than significant review, saving both evaluation time and lessening the stringency of the permit conditions that otherwise may have be imposed. Our work included close coordination and negotiation support between our client and the TCEQ.
