GES is pleased to announce the promotion of Jon Agnew to Vice President of Operations, Great Lakes Region, effective January 5, 2026. Jon joined GES on March 21, 1994 as an Associate Environmental Scientist during the start-up phase of our Pittsburgh office. His work accomplishments earned him promotions to Project Manager in 1998, Senior Project Manager in 2002, Site Operations Manager in 2005, Regional Operations Manager in 2013, and Director of Operations in 2018.
As VP of Operations for the Great Lakes Region, Jon’s responsibility spans from Pennsylvania to Colorado, providing leadership with respect to hiring, project management, resource allocation, client development, and financial performance.
Jon is a positive, energetic, and forward-thinking leader. He has an excellent understanding of his job responsibilities, is actively engaged across all of his offices, and maintains consistent, meaningful connections with his staff. Jon has an excellent understanding of how to build a functional and profitable organizational structure, including streamlining PM assignments and leveraging shared resources to meet project demands to support project needs. Despite some challenges over the past few years, his dedication, efforts, and leadership have resulted in a safe, technically sound and profitable organizational structure for his expansive region.
Jon is a strong supporter of business development activities, engaging Sector and Client Program Managers regarding the capabilities of his region. He also contributes to business development via client assignments, strategic hires, conference attendance and personal business development efforts. His persistence has resulted in the pursuit of many new opportunities with existing and new clients.
Jon has 34+ years of experience in the environmental consulting industry and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Sciences from Westminster College and a Master of Business Administration degree from Duquesne University. Jon’s personal time away from work is filled with many fun family activities which keep Jon, his wife, and three children busy and on the go.
